Merel Sluman grew up in a musical family. Muscial genes being passed down by her mother who was singer, she found out at an early age that singing was her passion. The influence of soul, jazz, and blues is clearly heard in her powerful and warm voice. Her album, “Leaving” was ML Radio 2 CD of the week and two singles off that same album where charted in the top 100.
Considering her long standing relationship with Drexmeister, it only made sense to be part of the New Believers, a creative endeavour that seems to come together naturally.
Musical Influences: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, Angie Stone, Erykah Baduh.
